WI-FI Streaming Media Players

Years ago, there were predictions that enough band width would allow media diversity. But until this moment what we have seen is mostly dismal. But as this technology improves, it represents the boundary of an important technological paradigm change of very hopeful possibilities.

Big screen TV is both a blessing and a curse. The rampant commercialism, indifference, and violence on regular TV has become utterly appalling. "Internet TV" means different things to different people. There are guides for watching TV online  that discusses what it is, why you (probably) want it, and what the potential drawbacks are. These guides ar intended as an overview of this new entertainment medium.

Also, some models will send a wireless signal through walls to a TV in another room. SmartTVs  have this feature built in to receive a WI-FI signal. A Smart TV is a television set with the integrated Internet and interactive internet features. There are hundreds of apps and services right from your TV.  Netflix and Amazon Prime, offer streaming movies economically. These are just two of the various streaming channels. If you don't have a smart TV Roku will allow older TVs to get streaming channels. Only the newest Roku has a mute button which is annoying since the apps offering free TV ( like tubi) have commercial messages.

Amazon Firestick offers similar services, but seems to offer fewer free choices. Bundled with Amazon Prime, Prime Music is a cool bonus service that lets you listen to approximately 2 million songs at no additional cost. Still, its limitations make it seem more like an ad for the more fleshed-out Amazon Music Unlimited (Starts at $7.99/month).

An audio format is a medium for sound recording and reproduction. The term is applied to both the physical recording media and the recording formats of the audio content—in computer science it is often limited to the audio file format, but its wider use usually refers to the physical method used to store the data. Music is recorded and distributed using a variety of audio formats, some of which store additional information. Your browser may offer an app to convert online videos to audio.

Here is a review of Streaming Media Players.  If you don't like iTunes or iPods,  Agptek offers a pretty good and inexpensive alternative, and there are various other MP3 players on Amazon.com

Meetup is a service used to organize online groups that host in-person events for people with similar interests. There are even YouTube groups on Meetup. Discuss the evolution of YouTube as a community and share tips on using YouTube, making videos, and much more.
