The Big Shift

For at least 12,000 years of human existence, knowledge was power and it was deliberately restricted to the elite of society

The Enlightenment was an intellectual movement in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries that sought to improve society through fact-based reason and inquiry. The Enlightenment brought secular thought to Europe and reshaped the ways people understood issues such as liberty, equality, and individual rights.

This Enlightenment, also known as the Age of Reason. At its core was a belief in the use and celebration of reason, the power by which humans understand the universe and improve their own condition. The Enlightenment involved new approaches in philosophy, science, and politics.Above all, the human capacity for reason was championed as the tool by which our knowledge could be extended, individual liberty maintained, and happiness secured.

It was a time in which ideas concerning God, reason, nature, and humanity were synthesized into a worldview that gained wide assent in the West and that instigated revolutionary developments in art, philosophy, and politics. Central to Enlightenment thought were the use and celebration of reason, the power by which humans understand the universe and improve their own condition. The goals of rational humanity were considered to be knowledge, freedom, and happiness.

Now there is a new much larger global enlightenment happening. Technology and the internet challenges the dynamics of knowledge. Sharing knowledge across a class of 20 or 30 students is one thing, but when you can harness the knowledge of hundreds or thousands of people the effect is significantly multiplied, and again it is technology that facilitates this process. The power lies in the size of the network — a platform like Facebook is successful because it has something like 1.4 billion people using it every day.

And New Age beliefs are common in America, even among people who are highly religious in traditional ways. A new Pew Research analysis looks at beliefs and behaviors that cut across many denominations producing a new and revealing classification, or typology, of religion. Included in the survey was a question about whether people held certain New Age beliefs, such as a belief that spiritual energy is located in physical things, such as mountains, trees, or crystals; reincarnation (people will be reborn again and again in this world); astrology (the position of stars and planets can affect people’s lives); and psychics (that some people perceive or are sensitive to supernatural forces).

There has been a huge shift in public priorities especially since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, organizations continued to face significant challenges, from inflation to geopolitical turmoil. 5D is a term that is becoming a popular way of describing the shift that is taking place within our consciousness as individuals and as a collective consciousness. The 5th dimension is not necessarily a physical place but rather higher consciousness energy that allows us to perceive life in a more multidimensional way.

"5D shift" describes humanity's spiritual awakening to a higher level of enlightenment.
