The Inner Experience

Our social values are based on ancient tribal mythologies that has delivered the power over the many into the hands to a few. And there a lack of realistic checks and balances to control aggression and exploitation.

This problem is derived from ancient moralities which amount to a belief that might makes right. Originally the man with the biggest muscles became the leader through sheer aggression.

Industrialization of weapons
has delivered power into the few who are in control of the military-industrial complex. This idea that might makes right has largely evolved through an ancient system of morality based on guilt and fear. The fear part boils down to the fear of death and the hereafter.

There is a universal belief in life after death. Whether it might be heaven or hell is the issue that has divided the psyche into a good and a worthless portion. This guilt and shame business has a sort of hidden agenda. Forbidding most every natural human propensity has created sin and a lot of sinners. It starts with lust, and once you do a bad thing you fall into the trap. Most of us get trapped. Shame is the name of that game.

Proposing the bliss of a heavenly hereafter as apposed to the eternal agonies of a firey hell; then claiming to be the arbiter of these fates has proved to be one of the most powerful and durable of all enterprises. Historically some of the greatest wealth ever amassed was brought about by selling tickets to heaven.

By presuming to know who is good and who is bad, certain people have usurped morality by making up rules of conduct. A priesthood of holier-than-thou individuals gained and exploited moral power over others. When this power joins up with the muscle guy's power, you get a divine king or absolute monarchy.

It is becoming ever more evident that something is missing in human history. Archaeologists tell us that ancient monuments were constructed by means well beyond our current technology. In various places giant stones weighing hundreds of thousands of tons were put in place with precision not achievable by the most advanced contemporary machinery.

And also certain psychics and healers apparently have access to information which defies what we thought were the limitations of time and space. This leads us into the realms of mythology and psychology. Jungian archetypes are defined as universal, archaic symbols and images that derive from the collective unconscious, as proposed by Carl Jung. They are the psychic counterpart of instinct. It is described as a kind of innate unspecific knowledge, derived from the sum total of human history, which prefigures and directs conscious behavior.

A shaman is someone that uses the Dream time to journey to non-physical worlds in an altered state of consciousness and returns to normal waking consciousness at will. Connecting with divine spiritual forces and universal creative energy, a shaman mediates with the spirit world for the purpose of guidance and healing.

The term parapsychology refers to the scientific study of certain paranormal phenomena, referred to as "Psi" phenomena such as telepathy and telekinesis.  The shamanic journey occurs by shifting awareness or consciousness in order to allow part of your soul to leave the body.

Beyond what we call "the natural," there is also a quantum realm new to us. It is beyond time and space and may affect the nature of the brain and mind in mysterious ways. There even seems to be a Spirit World or an Astral Realm. And to top it all off,  NASA has officially acknowledged the arrival of extraterrestrials.

So, what does all this mean? Well, it is apparent that, “We are not in Kansas anymore, Todo.”  Hard nosed objectivity is finally making way for conversations about the numinous etymology of inner experiences.

The global pandemic has brought about a huge internet surge of online sages and sooth Sayers. Social isolation may have arrived in the nick of time to help save us from a 6th mass extinction that is apparently well under way.

There are some outstanding luminaries worth mentioning:
  • Bruce H. Lipton, Ph.D. -Wisdom at the subconscious level of the mind where it can become a self-fulfilling habit.
  • Dr. Deepak Chopra, best-selling author of more than 90 books & a world-renowned pioneer in integrative medicine and personal transformation through science and spirituality.
  • Dr. Joe Dispenza -Neuroscientist, researcher of mind-body medicine, and brain/heart coherence., New York Times.best selling author and modern mystic.
  • Jeffrey Mishlove, Ph.D., a long-running serirs of interviews on psychology, philosophy, health, spirituality, science and from an "alternative" point of view.
  • Alan Watts (1815-1973) one of the first to interpret Eastern wisdom for a Western audience. See theYouTube list.

Spiritual Awakening

It is well-documented that people’s view of the world —no matter how strongly believed—may well be contrary to the facts, even contrary to physical law. All of these aspects of mind can be manipulated by experts, and by others. Religion is the oldest form of control. Religions of all sorts have been used for millennia to justify war and genocide in the name of god.

A “spiritual awakening” is a shift in perception. If your previous sense of self, or your individuality, had been one of separation from others and “the survival of the fittest,” there may be a deep desire for a sense of peace and oneness and connection.

So a spiritual awakening is, generally speaking, a newfound awareness of a unative consciousness or higher level of reality. A spiritual awakening can be gradual or rapid, and it can mean different things to different people.

Sometimes a life-change, paradigm-shifting event jolts you into a new level of awareness. It may be triggered by traumatic life events, and often happen at the most unexpected times, but one thing you should know, they will usually happen when you need them most.

However, it is not necessary to wait for something drastic to happen in our lives until we learn to shift our consciousness and become more spiritually awakened and aware. Alternatively, a series of gentler, minor awakenings may occur until you are fully awake and aware. Sometimes spiritual awakening is a slow, gradual process that happens when a person understands that their existence goes beyond the confines of the "I" or the ego.

Also, we can shift our consciousness deliberately. By practicing mindfulness meditation for spiritual awakening, we learn to be more present in any moment. Being mindful and fully aware of what is going on around us, is a spiritual awakening process that takes some practice. However, as we learn to stay in the present moment on a regular basis, this spiritual awakening experience will eventually lead us to a higher level of consciousness and a permanent state of spiritual enlightenment.

When you turn on a radio or TV you can tune in loud, raucous, harsh or violent programs or soothing uplifting serenity. A central issue in life is to what will you pay your attention? Your attention determines the experiences you have, and the experiences you have determine the life you live. Or said another way: you must control your attention to control your life. A central part of spiritual awakening is about a consciousness upgrade.  Attention shapes the brain, whatever we focus upon actually wires our neurons. What captures your attention controls your life.

Some of the most inspiring, informative, and deeply compelling experiences are associated with death or impending death (NDE) which researchers claim share similar characteristics including detachment from the body, feelings of levitation, total serenity, security, warmth, the experience of absolute dissolution, and the presence of a light.

Mindfulness is another approach. Mindfulness means maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment, through a gentle, nurturing lens. Mindfulness is "maintaining a moment-by-moment awareness of our thoughts, feelings, bodily sensations, and surrounding environment, through a gentle, nurturing lens.”

To take that definition a bit further, mindfulness requires a nonjudgmental acknowledgement and acceptance of our thoughts and feelings; acknowledging our feelings but judging them (e.g., providing a value judgment like “I shouldn’t be thinking that” or “That’s a bad thought to have”) would not qualify as practicing mindfulness.

It suggests that our human existence is one of spiritual unconsciousness and encourages us to "wake up' to an existence of spiritual consciousness." This awakening occurs when, for whatever reason, the ego somehow let's go so that a Higher Self or Spirit can arise within. It suggests that our human existence is one of spiritual consciousness.

There is a series on Amazon titled SPIRITUAL AWAKENING.  This is an overview and explanation of the spirit world.  Each of the four episodes is a different documentary about Religion and Science and eastern philosophy. You will surely find something useful in this documentary film.

Sooner or later we are confronted with the fact, that there seem to be more dimensions than the one reality we are living in and that we know so well. Many people say that we (individually and as a planet) are “awakening” or “waking up” from the 3rd to the 4th or 5th Dimension.

Ordinary 3D consciousness is viewing things from a purely physical state. You are seen as an individual that is separate from others. Life feels like “the survival of the fittest” and you are identified by the way you look, the job you have. Things are perceived as being good or bad and life is a competition.

4D consciousness begins to awaken to the idea that we are all connected and that there is more to life than what meets the eye.

Thoughts are powerful and can shift the way reality is perceived. Duality and the idea of good and bad is still experienced, but there is more compassion and understanding behind it.
There is an opening to the importance of diet, meditation and leading a healthy lifestyle.

Once you reach a 5D state of consciousness life becomes an adventure of growth and there is no such thing as good or bad. There is a higher purpose for all things and every experience holds meaning.

There are stronger feelings of love and connectedness with others, the planet and even the galaxies around us. Love and compassion reign supreme and there is a lack of judgement. You understand that everyone is just on their own journey.

Everyone is considered to be equal and there is a desire to live from a place of pure authenticity. You understand that your purpose is to live your truth. Once you reach a 5D state of consciousness, it is very difficult to go back to a 3D state.

SUMMARY
"The process of Ascension merges you to a pure and divine source of pure energy. It uncovers your potentials and reminds you that you are capable of doing and achieving much more.

The term spiritual Ascension means a magical awakening of your soul into a higher level of consciousness. It is a vibration frequency that generates positive energy and light. It unleashes your innate powers and wisdom. The ascension is an evolutionary process that is multi-dimensional and confusing.

It is an inner rebirth and expansion of your mind, body, and spirit. You learn to shed off your old thought patterns, negative beliefs, mindset, and feelings. You experience a new being hidden and dwelling within you. Upgrading the awakening process denotes a better understanding of you.

Ascension is not about becoming a superhuman. Rather it is a mere process to define your priorities in life. You let go of your human urges and worldly desires. It helps you to move towards spiritual goals and ascend to a higher realm of spiritual connection. Ascension is an experience that gives freedom to your soul. Soul frees itself from earthly ties and realizes the true joy of life.

Does the process discover what life really is? Your mental awakening motivates and inspires you to bring desired changes in your life that you have long craved for. It is like getting up from a dream and realizing the supreme power that lies within us. Ascension has immense power to unleash positive energies of growth and progress. You become strong and free-willed to define your destiny and carve it the way you want."

Welcome

An Open Mind Is A Precious Gift

Of all the ways people today are polarized the standoff between science and religion stands out.

Science is a a fact-based or a faith-based ways of thinking and explaining the world. Science seeks to explains all of the interior dimensions of human experience through physical and chemical processes of the brain.

Spirituality means different things to different people. For some, it's primarily about a belief in God and active participation in organized religion. For others, it's about non-religious experiences that help them get in touch with something bigger than ourselves, such as nature, compassion, empathy, generosity.

Science and Spirituality can be agents for personal development and for controversy as well. Existential crisis, or dread, is about moments when we question whether their lives have meaning, purpose, or valuue.

"The notion that science and spirituality are somehow mutually exclusive does a disservice to both."   -Carl Sagan

Our latest psychology will likely include a third category onto the mix. Stoicism, which is school of Hellenistic philosophy founded by Zeno of Citium in Athens in the early 3rd century BC. According to the stoics some things can be changed and some cannot, especially our brains. But recent neuroscience tells us otherwise.

A Dynamic Unity of Reality might describe reality from only one substance. As Aristotle explains, Metaphysics is the study of the One Substance (and its Properties) which exists and causes / connects all things, and is therefore the necessary foundation for all human knowledge. Aristotle's philosophy became official chirch dogma in the middle ages.

Despite several thousand years of failure to correctly understand physical reality (hence the current postmodern view that this is impossible) there may be a solution. If we can unite Science with Metaphysics.   '

Reality cannot be found except in One single source, because of the interconnection of all things with one another.' - Leibniz

The study of human consciousness has seen profoundly important discoveries emerge in the past couple of decades. Old science tells us that we are mechanical systems governed, fundamentally, entirely by impersonal laws. But now we are coming to a new understanding that we actually create our reality moment to moment. Noted physicists and mathematicians, as well as psychiatrists and neuro-physiologists, are now supporting this opinion.

According to panpsychism consciousness pervades the universe and is a fundamental feature of it. Apparently the universe is connected by a vast quantum energy field. Traditionally the universe is the expression of a universal mind that transcends personal awareness. A drop of rain falling into the ocean loses its it individuality and once again IS the ocean. The statement that mind is everything is a similar analogy. A profound understanding of this opens a doorway to deeper inner spiritual alchemy.

Physical reality can be described in terms of Space, a Wave Structure of Matter (WSM) where the electron is a spherical standing wave. It is easy to show that the Wave Structure of Matter is the correct solution as it deduces the laws of Nature (the fundamentals of Physics & Philosophy). While the Wave Structure of Matter is obvious once known, to begin it will seem strange simply because it takes time for our minds to adjust to new knowledge.

Harmony arises from a Wave Structure of Matter in Space (we are all interconnected in this space that we all commonly experience). This unity of reality (God, Brahman, Tao, Spirit, Energy, Light, Vibration) is central to all major world religions, thus their common moral foundation of 'Do unto others as to thyself' as the other is part of the self. Yet we continue to be our own worst enemy.

"You must be the change you wish to see in the world".   (Mohandas Gandhi)

Clearly our world is in great trouble due to human overpopulation and the resultant destruction of Nature, climate change and the pollution of air, land and water. The best solution to these problems is to found our societies on truth and reality rather than past myths and customs (which invariably cause harm).

Our perception of the world is influenced by our expectations. These expectations, also called "prior beliefs," help us make sense of what we are perceiving in the present, based on similar past experiences. Our negative core beliefs drive our dysfunctional immediate beliefs in the forms of attitudes and rules.

A desire for identity consistency may help explain why we can be so uncomfortable engaging with opinions that challenge our beliefs. The human instinct to survive is our most powerful drive. There are many examples of hard-wired human instincts that help keep us alive. Perhaps the most obvious case is the fight-or-flight response.

But people's inner monsters come in various forms, some more recognizable than others, and that we are all one random encounter away from tragedy. Only recently have we learned that our brains and minds are so full of flaws and cognitive quirks that reward survival more than knowing truth.
“For some of our most important beliefs, we have no evidence at all, except that people we love and trust hold these beliefs. Considering how little we know, the confidence we have in our beliefs is preposterous—and it is also essential.”
2002 Nobel Laureate Daniel Kahneman
The internet is clearly a very good way to get new knowledge visible to the world, a world now in great need of wisdom from truth and reality.  It is our purpose here to editorialize internet content to call attention to new and helpful information in order to gain a better overview.

During The Renaissance the size of the known world tripled. During the past few decades astronomers have discovered that there are likely trillions of galaxies and almost an uncountable number of planets. It remains to be seen how this may affect who we really are.

If you have or want a study/discussion group I can provide many media files and Texts, mostly taken from the internet.     aldoran@mail.com

Primacy of Consciousness

Originally the universe was seen as the product of the great mind of divinity. Then about 500 years the universe began to be seen as the great machine. Now we are beginning to look at the universe as consciousness itself.

The fundamental nature of reality is actually consciousness.

In our standard view of things, consciousness exists only in the brains of highly evolved organisms, and hence consciousness exists only in a tiny part of the universe and only in very recent history. According to panpsychism, in contrast, consciousness pervades the universe and is a fundamental feature of it. This doesn’t mean that literally everything is conscious. The basic commitment is that the fundamental constituents of reality—perhaps electrons and quarks—have incredibly simple forms of experience. And the very complex experience of the human or animal brain is somehow derived from the experience of the brain’s most basic parts.

"You are what you think you are."   -   The Finder

A few minutes of online research on the topic of war casualties reveals that humans are our own worst enemy. Why have we  been so willing to kill hundreds of millions of our own species?

Tribal customs, habits, beliefs, mythologies and laws naturally evolved out of unique regional geographic characteristics. Desert people are naturally very concerned with water rights. Coastal villages want to protect access to good fishing. Agricultural communities compete for productive soils. People were routinely displaced when colonial property laws were established to lay claim to places that were often previously occupied by others. But even these so called indigenous people had sometimes driven out other more primitive dwellers in a more distant past.

Each successive group lays claim to ownership for reasons they deem to be valid. Claims of ownership in the name of sovereignty amounts to a "might makes right" policy. And civil authority usually is subservient to moral authority, each religious group claiming "we are right, they are wrong," to justify the wholesale slaughter of innocents.

But the implications of recent science implies a fundamental shift in the identity of the ultimate moral authority. Apparently there may well be 100 million earth-like planets in our galaxy. And there may well be at least 100 million galaxies in the universe. So creation itself is a much bigger arena than it appeared to be only a few decades ago. But the clincher is a recent scientific claim that consciousness must preceed physical reality.

Albert Einstein, who won the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1921, wrote, “A human being is part of a whole, called by us the ‘Universe’, a part limited in time and space. He experiences himself, his thoughts and feelings, as something separated from the rest - a kind of optical delusion of this consciousness. This delusion is a kind of prison for us, restricting us to our personal desires and to affection for a few persons nearest us. Our task must be to free ourselves from this prison by widening our circles of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature in its beauty.”

Einstein also wrote that God is either nothing or everything. Apparently our understanding of what is has rounded the corner of awareness of infinity itself. Galileo and Copernicus removed the earth from the center of the universe, and recent physics has established that there is no center of the universe.

But civil law always lags behind, and this lag just may tip the scales in the ultimate scenario of the human experience on this small planet. Unless we can somehow shift gears from exclusion to inclusion, we may do ourselves in. Too little, too late may be the cosmic verdict for humanity. Unless we replace fear with love, and soon, our prospects aren't looking so good. A contemporary take on moral and emotional intelligence, invites us to accept what is and to be willing to find a way to be OK with it. Clinging to the past just isn't working.

We live in a time of profound global trends: climate destabilization, peak oil, water shortages, dying oceans, over-population, poverty, food shortages, soil depletion, pollution, weapons of mass destruction, and economic problems. These trends are interactive, and combined represent an unparalleled adversity trends amounting to systems crisis.

Never have we faced global challenges such as are upon us. So far our response has been applying more science and engineering. Peter Russell and Duane Elgin speak about the world in transition and explore some of the bigger questions about what is happening and our role in it all. They acknowledge that we are simply overwhelmed to the extent of just avoiding the issues. These two men make intelligent inroads into the nature of both the problems and of our denial and discuss how individuals can begin to come to terms with the future.

On their website Peter Russell and Duane Elgin emphasize that the real crisis is one of the human psyche. In one way or another human activity is at the root of this crisis, yet we stubbornly ignore the human part of the equation. The deeper part of the problem is within ourselves: greed, selfishness and apathy. And for that we need a spiritual and cultural transformation.

If that is to happen, we might begin by learning more about the top Spiritual Leaders of our times, and making an effort to learn what they have to offer.

1. Eckhart Tolle's profound yet simple teachings have helped countless people throughout the world find inner peace and greater fulfillment in their lives. At the core of the teachings lies the transformation of consciousness, a spiritual awakening that he sees as the next step in human evolution. He does not advocate any particular religion deliberately avoided setting up an ashram or center as he cautions that "one needs to be careful that the organization doesn't become self-serving".

2. Dalai Lama  is a vocal activist for Tibetan independence and has made an incredible contribution to global spirituality. As the Dalai Lama observes in his book, The Universe in a Single Atom: The Convergence of Science and Spirituality, dialogue between scientists and those interested in spirituality is important because science is not neutral; it can be used for good or ill, and we must approach scientific inquiry with compassion and empathy. Similarly, a spirituality that ignores science can quickly become a rigid fundamentalism.

3. Wayne Dyer inspires readers to actualize their potential, "Change Your Thoughts Change Your Life". He is referred to as the "father of motivation." He has reviewed hundreds of translations of the Tao Te Ching and says it is the wisest, most influential book ever written.and offers ways to use this wisdom.

4. Thich Nhat Hanh is a Zen Master, teacher, author and peace and human rights activist is called "an apostle of peace and nonviolence." He reflects on the beauty of the present moment, being grateful for every breath, and the freedom and happiness to be found in a simplicity in his journal of the art of mindful living.

5. Deepak Chopra is author of more than sixty books translated into over thirty-five languages on Ayurveda, mind-body medicine and spirituality, he has had huge success with titles such as Ageless Body, Timeless Mind and The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success. Chopra combines ancient relaxation and meditation techniques with technology to bring focus, energy and balance to your life.

6. Louise Hay is a motivational author, and the founder of Hay House. Her best known work is You Can Heal Your Life; Hay House has published over 300 books, and has made an immense contribution to mind-body-spirit literature and the New Thought Movement. Thinking positively can definitely make a difference!

7. Paolo Coelho is a Brazilian author, but he writes novels that transcend nationality and represent emotions and struggles that all humans can understand and sympathize with. "Closing cycles. Not because of pride, incapacity or arrogance, but simply because that no longer fits your life. Shut the door, change the record, clean the house, shake off the dust. Stop being who you were, and change into who you are." The Alchemist is one of the top selling books in history—with over 65 million copies sold, and holds the Guinness world record for being translated in the most languages.

8. Oprah Winfrey is one of  the most influential people in the world. She has discovered and advocated for so many spiritually influential thinkers—from Obama to Eckhart Tolle. We ranked her at only 8th place, because her influence isn't focused on spirituality, but eighth place may act as a metaphor since 8 means infinity in numerous metaphysical paradigms.

9. Ken Wilber has advocated Integral Thought and influenced figures as varied as Bill Clinton, Deepak Chopra, and Billy Corgan. He founded the Integral Institute and has written about adult development, developmental psychology, philosophy, world centrism, ecology, and stages of faith.

10. Rhonda Byrne is well known for The Secret book and DVD. Byrne advocates the belief that we can all transcend our suffering by not falling prey to negative thoughts. She has been listed among Times Magazine's list of 100 people who shape the world, and has also produced television shows. Last year she published The Power as a sequel to The Secret. "You'll begin to understand the hidden, untapped power that's within you, and this revelation can bring joy to every aspect of your life."

11. Lynne McTaggart is a best-selling author, researcher and lecturer whose work has rightly been described as "a bridge between science and spirituality. For the past 20 years she has been researching medicine and its shortcomings, and quantum physics and what this means for you and the world we live in. The result has been best-selling books and a monthly journal described as the best health journal in the world. She has also been overseeing a range of intention experiments on the web - believed to be the largest mind-over-matter trials ever undertaken – as well as a peace intention project that harnessed the intentions of thousands of participants for the betterment of humanity.

12. Dr. Bruce Lipton is a renowned cell biologist, former University professor and researcher. He has turned his scientific exploration to the integration of mind, body and spirit, and teaches how our beliefs affect our health. His breakthrough studies on the cell membrane revealed its function as essentially an organic computer chip, the cell’s equivalent of a brain. His discoveries opened the door to a new and important field, the science of epigenetics that shows how genes  respond to the environment, and stress, diet, behavior, toxins and other factors activate chemical switches in stem cells.

Body - Mind

If the old paradigm was about taking things apart,
the new paradigm is about putting things together.

When you want a cup of tea,  you boil water by adding heat which causes the water molecules to vibrate faster. When the rate of vibrations increase to the boiling point the molecules are moving so fast they begin to escape as steam. If you want cold tea, you add ice which is water that has been cooled to the point where water molecules vibrate so slowly that water becomes a solid.

Emotional energy changes your experiences in a very similar way. Anything that is alive has two basic motivations which are approach and avoidance (this-this or not this-not-this).  Approach is mostly about eating and procreation, while avoidance is mostly about safety and protection. Love and hate are the basic emotions. The more you love or hate something, the more energetically you approach or avoid it. Anytime you do anything energetically, or with feeling, it changes you.

The two basic ways to focus your energy are attention and intention. Using both at once synchronizes the brain and the mind which yields intensity, and if sustained, actually changes the structure of the brain and the body. A violinist strengthens the muscles of the fingers and arms as he practices the music and at the same time the brain actually grows additional cell structures to accommodate the understanding of  reading musical notes, key signatures, and dynamic notations.

Until fairly recently it was thought that you were born with all the brain cells you would ever have in your life. Neuroscience has shown that brain plasticity is very dynamic so that everything you do changes brain structure. If you develop an coffee addiction, then suddenly stop drinking coffee, you will get a headache because your brain has developed additional neurons to accommodate the additional stimulus from the caffeine. When you take away that caffeine, those neurons actually swell up and die, which causes physical pain. Similarly, your mind and body becomes addicted to anything you do repeatedly with intensity. That intensity can be focused attention and intention, or it can be a chemical stimulus (drugs).

From one point of view, the brain is an bio-electro-chemical mechanism. Input from the five senses is converted in chemicals that create electrical impulses that move through the nervous system firing neurosensors and synapses. It is like a two lane road with traffic going in both directions. The traffic going from the body to the brain senses our environment, while the traffic going from the brain to the body regulates movement, respiration, assimilation, and the growth and maintenance of the body.

But a mechanistic view of life has proven to be dangerous.  The mechanistic perspective is the idea we find in classical science which views truth as something to be discovered outside the mind, in the world.  It is empirical, rationalistic, reductionistic, and materialistic rather than idealistic.  In fact, it tends to denigrate the ideal, even while it seeks universal laws.  It is the most likely view to condemn subjectivism and to emphatically strive for a pure objectivism.  Since the goals of the mechanistic perspective remain independent from all subjectivity, it tends to focus on measurable quantity as the only significant quality, and on cause and effect over all other relations.

The mechanistic view often goes so far as to deny the existence of non-material qualities, even consciousness itself. Rationalism tends to denigrate matter, considering it corrupt, and sometimes dismissing it altogether, oblivious to the contradictions involved in such denial. This commonly results in a tendency to replace older explanatory structures, without consideration of the possible truths they may contain, with the “religion of science” we might call scientism.

In scientism, reality was seen as a universal machine, set in motion, perhaps by a Big Bang, constructed of elementary particles, governed by mathematical laws, and fully determined. This mechanistic view is often found, in people growing up in a modern society, especially among adolescents and young adults. It is a superficial, seemingly exuberant perspective  of power and practical application. Much of the successful side (and some of the dark side) of the modern world is due to mechanistic thinking.

According to the mechanistic world view the organism is passive. The body seen as mass object containing discrete parts. This medical doctors adopt Descarte's physics of physiology, a mechanistic view of life, for practical purposes. They examine and measure the machine-like workings in the body. The "constructiveempiricist" view of design is already part of practice of biology. Behaviorism is more concerned with behavior than with thinking, feeling, or knowing. It focuses on the objective and observable components of behavior. The behaviorist theories all share some version of stimulus-response mechanisms for learning.

Until recently, most doctors saw the human body is a machine and to cure the ills of that machine involves a mechanistic process, and the mind as being just an organ like other organs in the body. The severed view of the mind and the body that our society has embraced for so long has proven to be both inaccurate and tragic. It is amazing how little most people know about their own mind and emotions, never gaining real control of either.

Opposed to both the old mechanistic and vitalist interpretations of life and the universe is the new organismic view, which holds that the universe itself is a whole--a fundamental nondivisible unity --or that the wholes familiar to us that make up the universe or organic life are themselves basic. Organicism is the explanation of life and living processes in terms of the levels of organization of living systems rather than in terms of the properties of their smallest components

The hermetic tradition has long been concerned with the relationship between the inner world of our consciousness and the outer world of nature, between the microcosm and the macrocosm, the below and the above, the material and the spiritual, the centric and the peripheral. The hermetic world view pictured a great chain of being linking our inner spark of consciousness with all the facets of the universe.

Carl Jung thought that the collective unconscious contained the whole spiritual heritage of mankind's evolution, born anew in the brain structure of every individual. In the Far East, Hinduism, Buddhism, Taoism refer to a Unitive Consciousness that transcends personality. This occurs when we (temporarily) deeply know that everything is connected, there is no individual self  because there is no meaningful distinction between self and other—the person is simply aware of being an integral part of the evolution of the cosmos.

Now we hear of the unified field theory using sacred geometry to link everything -- and ascension to multidimensional existence.  Apparently we exists in an intentional field comprising our mind, body, society, culture, and environment. The separable aspects of the intentional field cannot be understood apart from the field, and their relative importance in influencing social behavior is given by the field. Thus, the field is organismic, in the sense that its parts are not separable without changing both the part and the field. And the field is more than the sum of these parts.

Lynne McTaggart  writes about the Zero Point energy field, a potential power source she called a "cosmic free lunch," if it could be tapped into. Such energy systems also relate to intent and psychic experimentation, she noted, adding that it has been demonstrated that mental intentions are actually a tangible energy.  She explores the potential of intention, which she views as being more powerful when focused on positive purposes such as healing. To use intentions effectively, she suggests positing an outcome in the mind, as if it has already happened, and then forgetting about it.

A unifying quantum energy or "field" connects the universe, and shared various pieces of scientific evidence that relate to this theory. We can train our brains for extra-human potential, she reported. For instance, by practicing meditation, she said the brain becomes more synchronized as the quantum particles "speak" to each other better. And because of the way subatomic structures function, the world is not as fixed or final as it might seem, and all matter and  all living things are subject to influence from the power of thoughts. On this level humans are connected on a subatomic level, and as such are not separate from each other., and can access the farthest reaches of the cosmos.

McTaggart reported on the results of her initial intention experiment. In this experiment, she instructed a group of 16 experienced meditators in England to direct their intentions to four remote targets (two kinds of algae, a jade plant and a human volunteer -- all under stress) located in physicist Fritz-Albert Popp's laboratory in Germany. According to McTaggart, Popp and his team measured a change in the amount of light being given off by the targets during the times intentions were sent by the meditators.

McTaggart's extensive research of numerous scientific studies involving 'spiritual healing' has led her to conclude that the human mind has the capacity to change physical matter. As an example, she cited Elisabeth Targ's study, which examined the effects of distant healing and prayer on a group of patients with AIDS.

In a remote corner of Brazil, the man known as John of God is changing people's lives in astonishing ways, helping and healing many of the hundreds who daily come to his free clinic. Many thousands of people have been cured in the over 50 years that John of God has been fulfilling his life mission as a transmedium.

Apparently by the skillful use of attention and intention you may be able to affect the energy field of the body and improve your health by tapping into the powerful Subconscious Mind.  We all have this ability, and we all choose to utilize it to a greater or lesser degree. The effects of nature, nurture, random events, and past decisions are not eliminated, but can be modified by our ability to project consequences and by our power to influence choices - by our awareness.

"The next big frontier in medicine is energy medicine...."As we get better at understanding how little we know about the body, we begin to realize that the next big frontier … in medicine is energy medicine. It's not the mechanistic part of the joints moving. It's not the chemistry of our body. It's understanding for the first time how energy influences how we feel."     ~ Dr. Mehmet Oz

"Human biology is both an energy and matter field .... "The challenge for acceptance of such a radical view that the human biology is both an energy and matter field will come from many fronts but the fact is that the contemporary physics worldview fully supports this amalgamation of matter and energy. By understanding the subtle biologic energy field we can begin to understand not only the biological origins of disease but we can usher into our healing traditions a true system of disease prevention."     ~ Dr. Bill Dean

"The human cell is a teeming, electric-magnetic field of possibility or potential....Quantum physics has found that there is no empty space in the human cell, but it is a teeming, electric-magnetic field of possibility or potential. If we are creating ourselves all the time, then it is never too late to begin creating the bodies we want instead of the ones we mistakenly assume we are stuck with."     ~  Deepak Chopra
