Paul A. Wallis

Paul Anthony Wallis is an Australian author, speaker, and former Anglican archdeacon. After more than three decades in church leadership and theological education, he shifted his focus to researching ancient religious texts, mythology, and claims of prehistoric contact with non-human intelligences.

Wallis has a background in theology, although his conclusions about ancient extraterrestrial
contact are not accepted by mainstream historians, archaeologists, or biblical scholars, that is quickly changing
. Most specialists interpret the ancient texts within their historical, linguistic, and cultural contexts rather than as evidence of extraterrestrial encounters.

He is best known for his Eden Series, including Escaping from Eden, The Scars of Eden, and Echoes of Eden. His work combines: Biblical studies, Comparative mythology, Ancient history, Speculation about extraterrestrial or non-human intelligence.

Wallis argues that many ancient scriptures may preserve memories of interactions with non-human intelligences, and he invites readers to reconsider traditional interpretations of humanity's origins. His books are popular among audiences interested in ancient mysteries and the "ancient astronaut" hypothesis, but they are regarded as speculative rather than established scholarship.

Some of his central arguments include:

  • Many ancient religious texts, especially parts of the Hebrew Bible, may have been mistranslated or reinterpreted over time.

  • Terms traditionally translated as referring to "God" can sometimes be read as referring to multiple powerful beings (elohim), which he argues may represent non-human intelligences rather than a single divine being.

  • Myths and sacred stories from different cultures contain recurring themes that he believes could reflect memories of encounters with advanced non-human visitors in the distant past.

  • He encourages readers to compare biblical narratives with Mesopotamian, Egyptian, Indian, and other ancient traditions to identify common patterns.
